Carly Rae Jepsen



Carly Rae Jepsen (born November 20, 1985) is a Canadian recording artist and singer/songwriter from Mission, British Columbia. In 2007, she placed third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol, and was a part of the Canadian Idol Top 3 concert tour.
Shortly after competing on Idol, she signed to Fontana and MapleMusic, and released her debut album, Tug of War, on September 30, 2008. Three years later, she released a new single, entitled "Call Me Maybe", which was released by 604 Records, and was followed by the release of her debut extended play, Curiosity, on February 14, 2012. "Call Me Maybe" was met with much success, reaching the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and reaching the number 1 spot on the Canadian Hot 100. The single also went to number 1 in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Jepsen signed with Interscope Records in 2012.

Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter who is currently signed to Asylum / Atlantic Records. Sheeran broke through commercially in June 2011, when his debut single "The A Team" debuted at number 3 on the UK chart.Sheeran was born in HalifaxWest Yorkshire to Irish and English parents, before moving to FramlinghamSuffolk; he is a cousin of TV journalist and presenter Gordon Burns. He learned guitar at a very young age, and began writing songs during his time at Thomas Mills High Schoolin Framlingham.

"What Makes You Beautiful" won the Best British Single award at the 2012 BRIT Awards, which was held on 21 February 2012.

It was a  phenomenal night at the Grammy awards  for Adele. She swept this year's Grammys winning all six awards she was nominated for.
Not only did her performance grant her a standing ovation, but she took home the coveted prizes for Record of the Year ("Rolling in the Deep") and Album of the Year (21). Adele also picked up Best Pop Solo Performance ("Someone Like You"), Best Pop Vocal Album (21) and "Rolling in the Deep" producer Paul Epworth was awarded Producer of the Year
